Metal Lath

Diamond Mesh

Diamond Mesh is manufactured from prime quality steel sheets that are slit and expanded to form small diamond shaped openings (over 10,000 per square yard). This large number of openings provides more plaster keys than any other type of lathing material. This allows for better stucco bonding in either pumped or troweled applications. Each sheet has square ends and smooth parallel edges for fast, easy handling and installation and can be readily bent for curved surfaces.

Diamond Mesh with Paper

Tilath is diamond mesh lath, regular or self-furred, to which offset asphalt saturated Kraft building paper has been applied. The grade D paper typically used is water-resistant, yet highly vapor permeable, and meets federal specification UU-B-790a, type 1, grade D, style2. Tilath reduces moisture penetration while allowing for the dissipation of moisture vapor from within the structure. Foundation weep screed at the bottom of all framed walls aids in the elimination of moisture that might reach the surface of the building paper.

High Rib Lath with Paper

This rib lath has kraft building paper between the ribs and is intended for horizontal applications with its seven longitudinal ribs, each 3/8-inch deep, and eight small flat ribs to provide additional rigidity. The herringbone mesh pattern provides excellent bonding of the stucco to the lath for ceiling and soffit installations. The 1/8-inch flat ribs at the outer edge of the sheet allow for a smooth overlap reducing plaster cracks at the laps. For these reasons, plus the fact that this product will span up to 24 inches on center, makes High Rib an excellent lath for horizontal installations.

Structa Rib Lath

Structa Rib Lath is designed for superior performance of stucco on overhead surfaces. Structa Rib is easy to handle, lightweight, durable, and is an approved alternative lath based on ICC-ES requirements and is an acceptable alternative to 3.4-pound, 3/8-inch metal rib lath on horizontal and vertical surfaces.

Diamond Mesh V-Furred

Codes require metal lath used over solid surfaces to be furred approximately 1/4 inch away from the wall to allow for the proper stucco keying behind the lath. Self-furred diamond mesh lath has a surface studded embossed "V" groove that provides the required 1/4 inch of furring. Fastener placement should be arranged so as not to negate the furring mechanism.

High Rib Lath

Due to its heavy construction with seven longitudinal ribs, each 3/8-inch-deep, and eight small flat ribs, it is used almost exclusively for ceiling and soffit applications. The herringbone mesh pattern allows excellent keying of the stucco to the lath for horizontal or ceiling installations spanning up to 24 inches on center. Rib lath is not generally recommended for vertical or wall installations.

Strip Lath

Diamond Mesh Lath is formed in strips 4 and 6 inches wide with smooth edges. This product is used at the corners of all openings such as doors and windows for reinforcement. Openings often cause weakened areas that are prone to cracks. This product may be used to reinforce other stress points in the lath assembly. Available in galvanized steel only. (2.5 pounds per square yard)
